SUPERINTENDENT OF EDUCATION
GENEVA CITY SCHOOLS
Job Title: Superintendent
Job Description: Superintendent of the Geneva City Board of Education with the duties set forth for superintendents in the Code of Alabama Code §16-12-1 et seq. and by the school board.
Required qualifications:
Alabama law requires the superintendent be chosen for general fitness and character and that he/she be knowledgeable in school administration. The successful applicant also must have or be eligible for the appropriate certification to serve as a superintendent in Alabama. A master's degree from a recognized four-year college or university is required but a doctorate is preferred. He or she must have experience as a classroom teacher and at least five years' experience in public school work. In addition, he or she must have worked for at least the last five years as a principal, administrator, assistant superintendent or superintendent. The successful candidate must also be qualified to be bonded by the school system's insurance carrier.
Additional information:
The salary range is between $125,000 - $165,000 based on experience and proven track record.
